Today I present to you a recipe for yeast rolls with sausages. These rolls are very tasty and easy to make. They will be perfect as a snack or lunch for school or work. For those of you who turn up your nose at sausages, I suggest replacing them with your favorite sausage or small meatballs.

Ingredients:

  • 12 sausages
  • 500 g wheat flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 25 g of fresh yeast or 7 g of dry yeast
  • 250 ml of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 egg for brushing the rolls
  • sesame seeds
  • optional mustard or ketchup

I also invite you to watch the video with step-by-step instructions.

Execution:

Make the leaven: in a separate bowl, mix the yeast with lukewarm milk, a spoonful of sugar and a spoonful of flour. If you use dry yeast, you can add it to the flour immediately. Cover the solution with a cloth and set aside in a warm place for 15 minutes.

Pour flour, salt and egg into a bowl. Start kneading the dough, slowly adding the ready mixture.

The dough can be kneaded by hand or using a planetary mixer. When the ingredients start to come together into the dough, add the butter and continue kneading. After kneading, the dough should be smooth and elastic.

Place the kneaded dough in a bowl, cover with a cloth and set aside in a warm place to rise. The dough should double in volume.

Place the risen dough on the board and knead it a few times. Then divide the dough into 12 equal parts. You can do it as shown in the video.

Roll out each part into an oval cake, then spread it with mustard or ketchup and wrap the sausage in the dough, gluing the ends and edges of the dough well.

Divide the sausages wrapped in dough into six equal slices and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Arrange the slices in the shape of flowers. See the video. Set the buns aside to rise again for 15 – 20 minutes.

Brush the buns created in this way with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes. Oven function: top-bottom.

Cool the finished rolls on a rack.

Enjoy!
